This car reminds me of my goals and ambitions for when to grow up. The main one is to be an engineer working on cars in some way. I opened this one up before to see how the gears and stuff worked, put it back together and it worked. This is when I learned that working with machines would be a fun thing to do. Especially working with cars because I was already interested in that. The toy is a sleek black shape with bold colors that show up much bolder in person. Whenever you wind up the car you push it forward for it to go forward which is way different from other windup cars. The hardest part was, since it was a sorta large object, keeping the white background. I solved this problem by adding sheets of paper up to fill the background with white and painting the lines created by shadows of overlapping paper. Since I take pictures of cars often compared to how much I photograph other objects it was easy to set up a composition for the object.
These toys used to be the thing back in elementary school. It reminds me of countless recesses when we threw them around and traded them as a kid. Since the object was smaller this time than the car it could fit on one page without having to blend together sheets of paper making it look less like something was off. A result of it being old though, was the dirty metal and scraped off paint making the object look less appealing. I fixed this by focusing more on the blue-green color which was way more appealing and it worked.
Apples remind me to stay healthy and to not get stressed out. Those two things are very important to me and, I think, are essential to happiness along with other things. Since it was a thing that wasn't too big or too small it was very easy to photograph but it was around 3 pm when I took the second one so it looks a little more drawn in. Again I used the smudge and paintbrush tool to erase the shadows and lines made by the 2 papers overlapping and it was successful. Vibrance was also a very useful tool for making the apple look more appetizing and appealing.
Legos go hand in hand with cars for me. They were another thing that made me decide to go into engineering because I loved how in it you are free to make decisions and invent. This robot I made had joints and such so it could move and had hands and elbows that worked like real ones. There was also a little space for a figure to stand in and "control" the figure. This was a very tall object compared to the other ones so it was harder to avoid the wall behind it and I ended up just painting over it in Photoshop.
This was just an object I found in the store a couple years back and I thought it looked cool so I decided to get it. Now it serves as a reminder to stay creative and is something I take pictures of often when I am taking pictures. There's so many different things you can do with it and from different angles you see something completely different. This object was about the same size as the apple and as a result, was pretty easy to photograph. The hardest part was highlighting the design in the right place and getting the embroidery to shine just right.
